The Beginning

Founded as Buddhist English Mixed Private College, Kalutara North, establishing a proud educational tradition in the region.

1960

Scouting Heritage

Suran Alwis represented the College at an international Scouting Jamboree under Principal Mr. DPM Walter Silva, marking the start of a vibrant scouting tradition.

1970s

Growth & Recognition

The College grew rapidly in academic excellence and co-curricular achievements, earning recognition at provincial and national levels.

Students must maintain academic integrity and give their best effort in all examinations and assignments.

Proper school uniform must be worn at all times on school premises in a clean and tidy manner.

Mutual respect for fellow students, teachers, and all staff members is expected at all times.

Punctuality is paramount. Students must arrive on time and attend all classes regularly.

Students must maintain cleanliness and help preserve the environment within and around school premises.

Mobile phones and electronic devices are not permitted during school hours without prior approval.

Scouting — Since 1960

Tissa College Scouting has a proud heritage dating to 1960. The programme develops students' character, leadership, and spirit of service through camping, community service, environmental conservation, and skill development. The Female Scouting Team produced a distinguished Queen Scout.

Cadetting — Since 1950

Tissa Cadetting began in 1950 when Mr. K.D. Jayatissa trained the first cadet platoon. The cadet corps nurtures discipline, teamwork, resilience, and patriotism through drills, camps, competitions, and community engagement, earning recognition at regional and national levels.
